Mick Creedon

Mick Creedon is Director of Strategic Partnerships at SJ Group International and the former Chief Constable of Derbyshire Constabulary, a role he held for ten years. During more than 37 years in UK policing, he served as the national lead for kidnap and extortion and is an experienced crisis negotiator.

As national lead, Mick oversaw some of the UK's most sensitive kidnap and extortion investigations. His wider career covered serious and organised crime, covert operations and crisis management. He led the creation of the Regional Organised Crime Units and Regional Asset Recovery Teams, which brought police forces, government departments and specialist agencies together to tackle organised crime across the UK.

The Home Office has appointed him to independent roles, including Home Secretary's Independent Reviewer of Sex Offender Management and Independent Monitor for the disclosure and barring scheme. He has held academic appointments at several UK universities and has been a Senior Visiting Fellow at the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI).

At SJ Group International, Mick builds and maintains the firm's relationships with law enforcement, government and specialist partners, so clients facing a crisis, a complex investigation or a threat from organised crime have the right people working with them from the start.
